Emerging
Milestones is a behavioral and educational treatment service. We offer
exceptional intervention plans for children from the Autism Spectrum
Disorders and their families.
Teamwork is
essential. Thus, we continually emphasize the importance of keeping
families involved, collaborating with other professionals associated
with the child, and developing a staff of skilled individuals.
At Emerging
Milestones, we have formed an alliance with specialists in the fields of:
Psychology, Medicine, and Education. We believe that this diversity
enhances our ability to develop appropriate and successful treatment
plans. In order to achieve long-term results for children with
neurological disorders, a thorough assessment must take place first and
again periodically. Based on each child’s level of functioning, a
comprehensive treatment plan is developed. Generally, we work to improve
communication skills, social skills, academic skills, self-help skills,
and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
Our goal is to
make use of the most current and successful training methodologies,
research and technology. Emerging Milestones recognizes that there have
been many different techniques developed to support children from this
specific population. All of our services are scientifically based and
known to be effective. We are primarily trained in Applied Behavior
Analysis. However, we also believe in the effectiveness of Relationship
Developmental Interventions and the importance of exposing children to
authentic emotional relationships. For this reason, our treatment plans
are tailored to each child’s specific needs.
Services are
provided in natural environments; home, public school, private school,
day care, etc. The mission that we seek to achieve at Emerging
Milestones is to give each child and their families the necessary tools
to lead a more thriving daily life in the least restrictive atmosphere
possible. Our number one priority is the needs of the
child. We are not concerned with earning a profit off of families;
instead we want to help as much as possible.
Our staff works
hard to help children mature into adults with improved functioning,
self-awareness, and self-esteem. We are dedicated to promoting and
improving the lives of those diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum
Disorders and supporting each child to reach their full potential.
We provide consultation & direct behavior intervention
services to children living in the Bay Area.
